Coin Strike after a week on my commute
I installed Coin Strike expecting a throwaway test and ended up keeping it. It's an arcade game built around one gesture: you flick a coin across a board and try to land it where the points are, or knock a rival piece out of the way.
The reason it works is the physics. They're consistent, so after a few rounds you start trusting your aim, and that trust is what makes the later boards fun. Bumpers, moving slots and tight corners force you to think about bank shots instead of straight lines.
A tip if you're starting out: don't rush the aim. The drag-and-release control gives you all the time you want, and slowing down to line up a two-piece hit pays off far more than firing quickly.
It's offline, small, and runs fine even on my older backup phone. Coin Strike isn't trying to be an epic — it's a five-minute pocket game, and it's genuinely one of the better ones I've played this year.
If you like clean, physics-based arcade games where skill actually matters, give it the week I gave it. It grows on you.
