Making strategy games work on a phone
Strategy is the genre that suffers most on small screens. You can have the deepest systems in the world, but if I can't read the map, I'm out.
Tidewatch Command handles this well by keeping its UI clean and its missions short. You get a full plan-ahead experience without squinting or mis-tapping.
When I review strategy games, I test them one-handed on a bus, because that's the honest condition most people play in. If it falls apart there, it fails.
If you're new to the genre, start with games that let you pause and think. Real-time pressure on a touch screen is a recipe for frustration.
